Name of Event*
|
The name you choose is how the event will be referred to on your web pages.
An event name should not contain a date since
Self Signup Home and Admin Home show an event's date range automatically.
|
Event's Public Start Date*
|
You change this field for things like postponements, not
to create a new event. (For that, use the Copy an Event
dropdown menu on the Creating an Event page).
M/D/Y, Y-M-D, and Month Day, Year are all accepted.
If a year is omitted, it is defaulted. In the context of an event,
it is set from the event's start date. Otherwise it is set to the current year.
If only two year-digits are supplied, 20 is prepended.

Event Chair*
(or check: From Signup)
|
Enter then name of the person who will be chair of the
event, or check the from-signup box. The from-signup approach
is for when the Chair position is itself an activity someone can signup for,
such as the host of a rotating party.
|
Co-Chair if any
|
|
Signups Coordinator
|
If someone other than the 1st Chair is the primary contact for people
who signup or have signup questions, enter that person's name here.
(If left blank, will be same person as 1st Event Chair)
|
Main Email Address
|
Enter a Main Email Address if you want this
address to be a choice in Email Announcement's From menu.
|
Signups Email Address
|
Enter a Signups Email Address
if you want the self-signup page's
"questions?" link to identify it
instead of coordinator's personal address.
(Can be same as Main Email Address).
If set, becomes a choice in Email Announcement's From menu.
|
UI Term for Location
|
If your activity names include locations with a common theme (e.g. precincts at
an election), enter that theme in this field. This will cause
Location to be replaced with theme (e.g.
Grid per Location would become Grid per Precinct in a view's Layout
to Show menu).
|
Default Signup Form
|
Set this to the form used most frequently by this event's activities.
That way, most of its activities will not have to individually identify their signup form.
|
Smart Check-in
|
If Smart Check-in is turned on, a signup's status is set to Open
60 minutes before the signup's schedule
item starts. If By Admin Only is set, an admin manually changing
this status is the only way check-in occurs.
If Auto at Login is set, check-in will also automatically occur
when a user logs in.
|
If you fill in this field,
there will be an "Instructions for this event" link at the top of its self-signup page.
