Audit Trail

There is now an admin audit trail page:

  • When you visit this page, it displays each major action (i.e. each email announcement, signup-related change, and registration-related change) of the current day that you have not yet seen.
  • Moving your mouse over this page's Any-New button will display a count of the major actions that have occurred since you arrived on this page. If the count is greater than 0, click this button to display them.
  • By clicking on this page's Search link, you can also selectively display major and other (e.g. login-related, report-related) actions your group has done over the past 10 days. A search can be for a date/time period, text within an entry, and/or specific kinds of actions. You can also exclude UI categories (e.g. don't display info-displaying actions).
  • A Search can display full audit entries or 1-line summaries from the past 10 days. If you choose the latter (and the whole entry did not fit on 1 line), you can click on the summary to display the full entry.

Additionally:

  • There is now an observer/agent page. It displays each signup-related action of the current day that you have not seen yet. It also has a Refresh button, but for signup-related actions only.
  • Every night, your webmaster will be emailed one message — containing that day's major actions. Similarly, if you specified a Database Changes Email Address, your group's registration-related changes will be emailed to that person.

Related changes:

  • An email announcement audit entry will now contain: the un-personalized copy of the message, plus a list of its recipients.
  • Email-less recipients will be handled differently. After you click Send, Email Announcement will give you the chance to print the personalized messages of all such recipients.
  • Approve Ready Requests will create a single audit trail entry describing all approvals, and each person with approvals will get 1 confirmation message listing all her approvals.
  • When a scheduled message has deliveries on a given night, one audit trail entry describing them all will be created.
  • The send-to-event-staff feature of Setup Auto-Messages has been eliminated.

Other Changes

Menus and buttons:

  • The more/down-arrow menus at the top of admin pages are now hover menus. That is, moving the mouse over a more/down-arrow, rather than a click, will display the menu.
  • The commands in the top-of-page menus have been moved around some to improve their organization.
  • The observer/agent buttons are now displayed at the top of all observer/agent pages, rather just on Self-Signup Home.
  • For regular users, Create Forum Topic's Share-With dropdown menu no longer contains the Support Team Only item. For admins, this item still exists, but has been renamed PRESTO Support.

Report layout:

  • Long words in report cells can now be broken across lines at punctuation characters, and very long words may have hyphens inserted. These things help avoid overly wide cells, particularly when printing calendar reports.
  • Calendar reports avoid splitting in the middle of calendar months as much as possible.
  • When splitting a calendar month or Tabular report cannot be avoided, splits are between weeks/rows.
  • When a week's row must be split, a week's day numbers are repeated at the top of the next page. (Note: Chrome currently does not support the HTML features used to accomplish this and the previous bullet).
  • The width field in the Layout box now means and has been renamed to Fixed Day-Widths. Enter a value in this field when you want all day columns in a calendar to have the same width. However as noted in the Help, some calendars simply have too much data in them to use this feature.

Miscellaneous changes:

  • On the top right of self-signup schedules, a user can now click on "available/all items" to switch between showing all signup slots and showing available signup slots.
  • The menu items for visiting the user forum now contain an up-to-date count of unseen forum messages. Similarly the menu items for the audit-trail page now contain an up-to-date count of unseen audit trail entries.
  • Configure Group now has a field for entering any roles you want to give your group's webmaster. (Incompatiblity Note: if you enter no roles, the webmaster has none; previously he had all roles).
