This will hide the schedule items the person can no longer signup for.

If your events are long running or have lots of schedule items, people will find
schedule views useful. For example, when an event is
imminent, there are usually just a few not-full items. To make them easier
to find, a person could click on the ,
check Only match items still available to you, and click on the
Display View button.
This will hide the schedule items the person can no longer signup for.
If a person decides such a temporary view will be of use in the future, she would click on its Save link. In fact, this is what this user did to create the Spots Still Available personal schedule.
