Your Annual Fee

You only pay for the resources you use. These are: the people in your database (i.e. the online version of your contact list), the signups people do (e.g. volunteer for a phonathon, reserve a tennis court), and Email Announcement recipients.

Charges accrue as follows:

  • The 1st 500 people in your database are free. After that, they are 4 cents a piece.
  • The 1st 500 signups per year are free. After that, they are 4 cents a piece.
  • The 1st 2000 Email Announcement recipients per year are free. After that, they are 0.2 cents a piece.
  • Charges over $500 in a year are 50% off.

  • Since we use pay-to-continue pricing (see below), all sites can try out PRESTO for free for at least 3 months.
  • Your people database charge is sliceable quarterly by charging 1 cent for each person in your people database at the end of each quarter.

Getting-Started Consultation

After you adopt PRESTO (click here), you are entitled to a free 90 minute phone consultation. During this conversation, we will setup your group and first event, and/or answer any questions you have. We offer this free consultation and our free ad hoc support because we are committed to your success. Of course, we also hope that you will share your success with other groups.

To take advantage of this service, just email sales@prestogem.com some times you can meet. We will reply with when you should call and what number you should call. (If you prefer that we call you, just let us know that in your email).

If you know what you want, we can usually setup your group and first event in less than an hour. Taking the guided tour and/or reading the following material might help you settle on what you want.

Example Book Sale Announcement

Reviewing your last event announcement or creating a draft of your next one is a good way to prepare for the setup consultation. For example, an announcement like the following makes setup a breeze:

  • Carters: Use dolly or hand-carry boxes of books from the storage area to the sales room.
  • Cashiers: Add up the cost of the customers' books, take money and make change.
  • Membership: Check patrons' membership to confirm their status is current and renew them when necessary.
  • Setup Prep: Assemble and place table signs, hang price lists and put out bookends.
  • Tablers: Arrange books on tables (no heavy lifting required Thursday).

Optional Services

Long-term Direct Access to Events

You can keep around events for 5 years for FREE. After that, an event is archived. This means PRESTO will automatically remove the event, its schedules, and its signups from your database and email you an Export file for the event. You may re-import the event at any time (e.g. to do a special long term report), but it will be automatically removed again in a week.

You may setup a longer dont-archive period. If you do, each whole year of extra storage is 2/10 of a cent for each schedule item and signup in the event. For example, if you run 4 events per year, and each event has 100 signups spread across 25 schedule items, then each extra year you keep these events around will cost you 4*125*$.002 = $1.00.

We will bill you at the end of your fiscal year for any long-term event storage you have setup.

Service Contracts

Send us email if you are interested in contracting for any of these services. We will contact you, discuss what you want, and then email you a statement of the planned work and its price. The prices we quote are based on a labor rate of $100/hour.

Before the work starts, a non-refundable payment of 50% of our price is required. The balance will be billed upon completion of the work.


Basic ad hoc training is provided for free as part of Support.

If your group needs more focused help, a phone training session can be arranged — with an agenda of your choice. Also on-site training, which would include trip expenses, can be contracted for on a case-by-case basis.

Admin Services

This includes things like:

  • Importing your contact list into your PRESTO people database.
  • Designing an event: its signup schedules, signup forms, and activities.
  • Designing reports.
  • Setting up scheduled announcements and drafts of announcements.

Code Customizations

This includes things like:

  • Importer customizations: enhancing the Importer to accept a new format for a field.
  • Database customizations: adding UI support for a new built-in field.
  • Arbitrary new features.

At our discretion, we can make such changes available to everyone.

Quarterly Reports, Billing, and Payment

Your fiscal year starts on the date you adopted PRESTO. You will be sent a usage report at the end of each quarter there is anything to report. If your total Amount Due is less than $5, it will be rolled into your next bill. Otherwise there will be a Pay Now button in your quarterly report.

When you click on the Pay Now button, the PayPal payment page will be displayed. If you have a PayPal account, login and pay from it or via your saved credit card info. Otherwise click on the Don't have account line and pay by entering your credit card info. Either way, PayPal guarantees the security of the transaction, and none of your financial information is made available to prestogem.com.

Billing Timeline

You only need to pay if you plan to continue using PRESTO. However, to prevent accidental disablements, we do remind you about what you owe. Conversely after 28 days, we will not trouble you any further.

  • After we email you a bill, payment is expected within 14 days.
  • After 14 days, we will remind you by email if you have not paid yet.
  • After 25 days, we will notify you by email that your PRESTO website will be disabled in 72 hours if you do not send payment by then.
  • After 28 days, your website will be disabled. If you pay after that, there is a $25 service charge for reenabling your account.
  • After 91 days without payment, your website will be deleted.

Pricing and Billing Policies

  • We are open to non-standard fee arrangements on a case-by-case basis. In particular, you can purchase a lifetime contract if desired. Contact sales@prestogem.com for more info.
  • PRESTO prices are subject to change at any time. Any price change becomes effective in your next fiscal year. However we guarantee that your annual FREE quotas will never be reduced.
  • You may not assign or delegate your account to another without our prior written consent.
  • If you are dissatisfied with any admin or customization work we do for you, we will work with you on a case-by-case basis to rectify the issue. When this process is over, we will re-email your possibly modified bill, and the billing timeline will apply as usual.

Termination of Idle Groups

If you do no registrations, no signups and no email announcements for 15 months, we will email a notice that your PRESTO website will be deleted in 3 months. To prevent this, email sales@prestogem.com or do a registration, signup, or announcement.
